British politics. International consequences.
This is my running commentary on Westminster, governance, national identity, security, and the global forces shaping Britain — from culture and courts to borders, defence, and energy. I’m interested in outcomes, not theatre.
What you’ll get here
I publish short, direct pieces that do three things:
• Call things as they are (even when it’s unpopular)
• Join the dots between UK policy and international reality
• Argue for competence in government — because slogans don’t deliver services
My patch (and why local still matters)

I’m a County Councillor for Market Harborough West and Foxton in Leicestershire; and District Councillor for Logan in Harborough. Local government is where ideology hits the hard edge of delivery: planning, infrastructure, services, budgets, standards. If you want to know whether politics works, look there first.
I care about stewardship — the principle that we inherit a place, we don’t own it. Decisions made today shape what our children inherit tomorrow.
Below are images from across the Division of Market Harborough West and Foxton, and Logan Ward. They depict the beauty, uniqueness and character of the place I now call home, and elegantly convey why I would wish to protect what we have.
